The lovely thing about the Beach Bum shorts is how easily they slot into a summer wardrobe, so here are a few ways to wear them.
Keep the top half simple and let the shorts do the talking. A plain tee or a halter vest works beautifully, and a colour that sits close to the shorts, tonal or matching, makes the whole look feel considered without any effort. Flat sandals finish it off, ready for the beach or a wander into town.
For a day by the water, try a bikini or bralette top with a soft shirt left open over the top. A towelling or linen shirt does the job nicely, and it gives you something to shrug on and off as the sun comes and goes.
They are also an easy thing to throw on over a bikini. Pull them on when you come off the sand and you have a simple cover-up for lunch by the pool or the walk back to the apartment.
When it comes to bits and pieces, natural suits them best. A straw basket or a canvas shoulder bag, a pair of sunglasses, and maybe a little shell or pearl necklace sit far better with the towelling than anything shiny.
On a cooler evening, a soft knit thrown over the top keeps everything cosy and the shorts still feel like summer.
