IT STARTED AT THE BEACH
Our story
Founded by Mitty, the Bridie & Bert collection was originally inspired by the nostalgic charm of the British seaside, Summer living and the memories of her seemingly idyllic childhood holidays spent more often than not in St Mawes, where she opened her first shop.
Bridie & Bert was launched in 2021 with the idea of creating comfortable beach cover-ups for children and adults, like those she wore as a child. Her mother had saved many heirloom pieces including the towelling parkas which set Mitty off on the road to re-introducing something similar.
Since then the range has pivoted from an almost Enid Blyton lifestyle to more modern day and now includes a beautiful collection of Towelling robes, dresses and best-selling hipster shorts, knitwear and swimwear for all the family and a charming range of accessories and housewares that can’t fail to brighter our days.

Ethos & philosophy
Bridie & Bert is all about simple, beautifully made garments for kids, women and men. Our designs include super soft towelling and cottons in a simple, practical aesthetic.
Our children’s collection allows children to be children in comfort, in garments they don’t want to take off and look gorgeous in, especially in photos to be cherished for years to come.
The Bridie & Bert philosophy centres around the idea of creating carefree moments and memories in clothes that last a lifetime in a soft and easy to wear style.
We believe less is more, which is why you won’t see pages of colour choices or an abundance of different styles to choose from. Instead, we have focussed on beautiful basics that can be worn every day, that make holiday packing a joy and is hopefully just what you are looking for.
We are particularly pleased to be working with suppliers in Turkey, India, Italy and the UK who we know personally and share our design sensibilities and ethos.
CONSCIOUS OF OUR COAST
Sustainability
We love soft cottons and natural fabrics where possible, but ever mindful of the practicalities of a busy family holiday, we like to use materials that are quick to dry and plastic free.
