Looking to make a change from the same old Christmas presents? We can help you with our personalised hooded beach, bath & swimming towels for the whole family!
If your Christmas list is anything like mine, you’re probably trying to come up with original and thoughtful presents for a lot of family members. You want to lovingly wrap gifts that show the receiver that you’ve considered what they like or what they might need in the year to come. You’d rather not just hand over an envelope of vouchers, or even worse, make a last-minute dash to the shops and panic buy.
I like to think that Bridie & Bert can provide the perfect solution to your Christmas present conundrum, with our personalised hooded beach towels and our new personalisation feature. Read on to find out why unwrapping one of our cosy, soft robes under the tree might bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Why a personalised hooded beach towel is the best Christmas present
Beach towels might not be something you associate with the month of December, but I’m here to convince you to think again. Our beach towels are so versatile that the beach is not the only place you can use them (they’re popular for throwing on after baths and swimming lessons too). Made of the softest towelling, with no ties or fasteners, you can just throw them over the heads of your little ones and they can keep running around, nice and cosy.
Giving the family our personalised hooded beach towels is quite an inventive way of encouraging them to head to the coast once festivities are over. Because after all, wintery beach walks and frosty paddles can be a lot of fun during the colder months!
The best beaches are quieter, the waves much more interesting (for surfers or onlookers), and the traffic less stressful. If you haven’t explored the wonders that UK beaches have to offer in the winter, then buying the whole family one of our hooded beach robes and jumping into the car with a few thermos flasks of soup or sweet tea could soon become a new January tradition for you.
The best places to take your beach towel
Bracing fresh air, stunning vistas, and maybe even some newborn seals to coo over. The UK has some incredible beaches to visit at this time of year. You can find Country File’s Top 10 here, but these are some of my favourite places to visit in the winter sun:
Durdle Door, Dorset
Fossil hunting and rock-pooling don’t have to be summer activities. Durdle Door is part of the Jurassic Coast, so who knows what remnants of ancient beasts you’ll find nestled in the sand. Hike along one of the many coastal paths, roll up your trousers and take a paddle in the shallow waves and then enjoy your hot chocolate snuggled up in your hooded beach towels, making up stories about the famous limestone arch.
Praa Sands Beach, Cornwall
Cornwall can be the home of magical adventures all year round, so what better place to go for wintery fun? And, once you’ve had your fill of sand dunes and cricket matches, you can enjoy a sumptuous roast dinner at The Sandbar (family furry friends are also welcome!).
Horsey, Norfolk
Three Cliffs Bay, The Gower
For you budding surfers, winter is the best time to head to the Gower with your board. Three Cliffs Bay is much quieter at this time of year, but you’ll still find rideable waves and a chance for the little ones to have a paddle. Then you can throw one of our soft towelling robes over everyone’s head and get your breath back.
Studland Bay, Dorset
Studland Bay’s miles of sandy beaches are just begging to be stomped along, as your little ones look out for the many species of birds that make their home here in the winter. Complete with a beach cafe for those times when you forget your thermos, you can also spot the chalk stacks of Old Harry. Follow this National Trust trail for a family-friendly walk through the dunes.
Keep them warm after swimming lessons
Not every day can be a family day out unfortunately but once you’ve got back from your trip and shaken the sand out of your shoes, you don’t have to pack your hooded towels away.
Our hooded towels are perfect for after swimming classes. Just pop them over your child’s head and keep them warm in those surprisingly chilly changing rooms. They could even keep them on for the journey home afterwards. As an added bonus, our new personalisation feature means you’ll never get them mixed up.
(You can get any of our robes personalised for just £10 when you place your order).
